My Critical Views on The Birthday Party.

Comedy of menace such kinds of plays are generally written by David Campton for his four plays in which the characters threatened by obscure, force or by personality.

Comedy of Menace this term coined by Irving wardel who borrowed it from the subtitle of Campton's play The Lunatic View: A Comedy of Menace, in reviewing Pinter's and Campton's plays an Encore in 1958.

Absurd theatre such kinds of plays are monotonous.   Critic Martin Esslin coined the term in his 1960 essay "Theatre of the Absurd." He related these plays based on a broad theme of the Absurd, similar to the way Albert Camus uses the term in his 1942 essay, "The Myth of Sisyphus" . These playwrights pointed out that what would happens if the human beings have no any existence. Then all the communication breaks down.  Samuel Beckett's ' Waiting For the Godot' is one of the great example of such plays.

Audience can’t find anything new. Nothingness remain in the mouth of the audiences.Harold Pinter dramas also known as absurd theatre but later on such drams known as ‘ Comedy of Menace’ in which characters are frighting from others.

I haven't seen movie but there are many scenes which creats comedy of menace.like Stanley is beating drum, the sound of cut of newspapers, the very beginning the door sound and; the scene of Blind man’s Bluff is the most frightening scene of the movie/play. These scenes show upcoming danger on Stanley.

Many things have no any clear cut as what was the past of Stanley and from where he came. and the other characters  McCann and Goldberg, their past is not clear. Each character are frightening from others but fear for what? Those things are not clear.
